Micil Distillery
Micil Distillery is named in honour of our great-great-great grandfather, Micil Mac Chearra, who began distilling poitín in 1848 on a Connemara region hillside in the Galway County. This is a Irish speaking region, in the west coast of Ireland, strongly attached to the Irish traditions.
They opened theirs doors in 2016, becoming Galway’s first legal distillery in over 100 years.
The production of the two brothers include : irish cream, Poitin, Gin and for sure Whiskey. They are all produce in small batch using local ingredients, unique family recipes, and six generations of distilling knowhow.
